This position is located in Houston, TX and follows a hybrid schedule (4 days in office, 1 day working from home).

Job Summary

Design, develop, test, implement, and support business software applications that facilitate business processes and enable data analysis. The role is responsible for the development, testing, and timely delivery of requested business system software enhancements, reports, and custom applications.

Essential Functions, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Practice safe work habits and comply with all quality, safety, health and environmental policies, procedures, programs and regulations.
  • Design and develop customizations and enhancements to the Infor Syteline ERP system and external applications interfacing to the ERP system, according to business requirements.
  • Create automated reports and business intelligence solutions to facilitate business data analysis.
  • Interact with end users to gather and refine requirements for business software solutions.
  • Provide clear, complete and detailed documentation of developed software solutions.
  • Perform thorough testing of software solutions before deployment to Production systems.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues with business software applications.
  • Document test results for unit, component, system and release testing for projects prior to end user acceptance testing; participate in end user acceptance testing meetings.
  • Develop an implementation plan that describes the physical installation of the software in the production system as well as the training requirements and responsibilities required for the implementation.
  • Compile and write documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program.
  • Participate in implementation of ERP System upgrades.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education, Training and Experience

Bachelor's degree (IT) from a four-year college or university; one to two years related experience and / or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

None required.

Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in object-oriented software design / development, specifically .NET development.
  • Experience with Infor Syteline / CSI version 10.
  • Experience with extension classes and form personalization.
  • Familiarity with Infor Syteline ERP development tool set.
  • Intermediate skills in MS SQL Server database design / development and performance analysis.
  • Advanced skills in logical analysis, ability to devise effective solutions based on less than precise specifications.
  • Skills in web and / or mobile applications development would be an asset.
  • Ability to understand business processes in detail and apply that understanding to meet requirements of software development projects.
  • Ability to work independently yet collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Software development life cycle.

    • Infor Syteline ERP development

  • Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL)
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • .NET (VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET)
  • SQL Server Reporting Services / Business Intelligence Development Studio
  • MS SharePoint
  • MS Excel / Microsoft Office suite
  • Familiarity with DevExpress Controls would be an asset.
  • Power BI
  • Advanced Language, Math, and Reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications.

    • Work Environment

  • Normally work in an office environment; however, occasionally may work in a laboratory, assembly areas and field service machine shop.
  • Occasionally may be exposed to hazards such as loud noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc. while working in Engineering laboratory, assembly areas and field service machine shop.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
