Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Nurse Manager – Cardiac Stepdown Unit for a top healthcare client in Plano, TX .
This leadership role provides 24 / 7 accountability for a 37-bed Cardiac Stepdown Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with the hospital’s mission and nursing philosophy. The Nurse Manager will lead clinical and operational excellence, promote professional development, and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and clinical performance of the Cardiac Stepdown Unit.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations for nursing personnel.
- Develop and implement patient care plans and process improvements to enhance outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention, patient safety, and evidence-based practice standards.
- Monitor budgets and control costs while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professional growth, and patient-focused excellence.
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and leadership to support optimal patient flow and outcomes.
- Lead and educate staff in continuous quality improvement and medical error prevention.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) requiredMaster’s in Nursing or related field preferredExperience
Minimum of 2 years of recent acute or critical care leadership experience requiredExperience in Magnet or Pathways-designated hospitals preferredCertifications / Licenses
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or Compact StateBasic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications requiredNational specialty certification required within 1 year of hireSkills or Competencies
