Job Title : Systems Engineer

Location : Remote

Duration : 12 months;

Rate : $80 / hr on W2

Overview :

The Systems Engineer will support NERC CIP compliance efforts with a primary focus on patch management across critical infrastructure systems. This role ensures all applicable assets meet regulatory and cybersecurity patching requirements, working closely with compliance, operations, and security teams to maintain system integrity and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, test, and deploy operating system and application patches across Windows and Linux environments supporting NERC CIP systems.
• Coordinate with compliance and operations teams to ensure timely patching aligned with NERC CIP-007 and related standards.
• Maintain patch baselines, system inventories, and change management documentation for audit and regulatory reporting.
• Develop and maintain automated patch deployment and reporting processes using enterprise tools (e.g., SCCM, Ivanti, WSUS, Ansible, or equivalent).
• Support vulnerability remediation efforts by aligning patching activities with findings from security assessments and scans.
• Participate in compliance audits and provide evidence and technical support to demonstrate patching adherence.
• Monitor and report on patch compliance metrics, exceptions, and deadlines to management.
• Collaborate with OT / ICS engineering teams to ensure secure and compliant patching in operational technology environments.
