Job description

Transportation - Admin Assistant

The Transportation - Admin Assistant will assist Managers and Assistant Department Managers with administrative tasks, assignments, and other projects supporting the operation. This position will require an energetic and customer service-oriented individual to provide the best service when dealing with individuals at all levels of the pyramid. A day in the life

Capturing and reporting departmental data and results to ensure proper reflection of departmental performance

Communication with internal and external customers via email and phone to ensure prompt response to issues

Support managers and assistant managers with administrative tasks and other projects

Identify and research, problems and expedite solutions to ensure smooth, continuous work flow

Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through relationship-building and collaboration

Deliver productivity through the efficient use of time and a commitment to strong results

Maintain and update all reports relating to the Labor Management program

Assisting with equipment and supply tracking and distribution (i.e. radios, scanners, etc)

Monitor transportation KPIs (on-time performance, trailer utilization, load accuracy, etc.) and escalate trends to leadership.

Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred (e.g., Manhattan)

Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and logistics partners to resolve discrepancies, delays, and service failures.

Transportation experience recommended

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Experience with freight pay and bill pay

6+ months distribution and / or fulfillment center work experience.

Demonstrated basic understanding of distribution and / or fulfillment center operations and workflow.

Good written and verbal communication skills

Intermediate PC skills, with an emphasis on MS Excel

Ability to learn new tools rapidly and independently

Well-developed time management and organizational skills.

Ability to deliver excellent customer service attitude and to work as team player to accomplish daily objectives

Pay Range Details The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. $26.20 - $27.80 Hourly This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives / bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical / vision / dental / life / disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
