Job Title: Engineering Test TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Engineering Test Technician will troubleshoot and analyze problems related to the design and operations of test cells. This role involves verifying that laboratory equipment is calibrated, assisting in designing systems for lab and production functions, and setting up products for testing. The technician will perform necessary steps to conduct specialized tests and investigate test equipment issues, documenting findings and recommending improvements to Design Engineering. Responsibilities also include designing and maintaining lab data acquisition systems and supporting test data management.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and analyze design and operational problems of test cells.
- Verify calibration status of laboratory equipment.
- Assist in designing systems for laboratory and production functions.
- Set up products for testing and conduct specialized tests.
- Investigate and troubleshoot test equipment issues, document findings, and recommend improvements.
- Design and maintain lab data acquisition systems and support test data management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills- Troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Experience with test equipment, lab systems, and process controls.
- Proficient in HVAC systems and plumbing design.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Knowledge of instrumentation related to refrigeration and gas combustion equipment.
- Experience or training in LabVIEW or similar programming software.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Min Voc-Tech degree in HVAC with 0 - 2 years of experience.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA), AutoCAD, Pro-E, PLC's, and controls.
Work EnvironmentThe role is set in an engineering prototyping and R&D environment, requiring engagement in research and development activities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montgomery, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.20/hr.
