We are currently seeking a contract position for an Interventional Radiology Technologist located in or around the surrounding area of Baltimore, MD . Job Description : This is a full-time (40 hours per week) day shift position working 8-hour shifts from 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM in the Interventional Radiology department. The position requires working with a variety of IR procedures including angioplasty, IVC filter placement / removal, and special procedures utilizing fluoroscopy and Siemens equipment. The facility utilizes Cerner for electronic charting. Job Responsibilities : - Assist with interventional radiology and special procedures- Perform angioplasty, IVC filter placement and removal- Utilize fluoroscopy and Siemens equipment- Prepare access sites and maintain sterile field- Apply sterile technique during procedures- Perform equipment setup- Assist with patient care during procedures- Participate in on-call rotation- Document in Cerner electronic medical record- Scrub in and maintain sterile field during procedures- Serve as room circulator as needed Basic Hiring Criteria : - 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required- ARRT R (Radiography) certification- Maryland State License- First-time travelers accepted- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)- Experience with Cerner charting system- Community hospital experience required Desired Qualifications : - ARRT VI certification preferred- Experience with various angiography procedures (adrenal, aortography, mesenteric, pelvic, renal)- Knowledge of embolization procedures, stent placement, and catheter / drain exchange- Experience with central venous access and port placement- Familiarity with chest tube placement, paracentesis, and thoracentesis- Skills in TIPS procedures, vertebroplasty, and vascular closure systems- Understanding of isolation precautions and rapid response protocols- Experience with EKG lead placement and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias Facility : This is a 100-bed short-term acute care hospital. Scrubs are provided by the facility. The hospital uses Cerner for electronic medical records. Orientation is held every Monday. The facility provides interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The hospital sees adult and geriatric patients with a daily census of 110 and approximately 12 IR visits per day across 2 procedure rooms. Compensation and Location : Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
