DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will engage in a diverse range of electrical engineering tasks aimed at supporting correctional institutions across the state. Leveraging your knowledge of electrical engineering principles and methodologies, you will devise effective solutions to challenges related to operations, maintenance, design, or construction. Your responsibilities will encompass the review and preparation of various electrical engineering designs, along with the creation of detailed design drawings and specifications necessary for construction initiatives. You will also be involved in conducting site surveys for ongoing projects, participating in design review meetings and conferences, and coordinating design activities with all relevant stakeholders. Furthermore, you will provide expert recommendations concerning equipment as well as represent the department and facility during inspections and conferences, ensuring that the interests of the institution are effectively communicated and advocated for.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hour work week
• Work hours are 7 : 30 AM to 3 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework : You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week upon successful completion of the required 6-month training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
