Overview : As a National Transit Database (NTD) Data Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely submission of essential data for the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). You will manage the collection, verification, analysis, and reporting of financial, operational, safety, and asset information according to federal guidelines.
Key Responsibilities :
- Data Collection and Management : Oversee data collection from various departments including operations, finance, safety, and maintenance. Develop and maintain procedures for effective data collection and management, serving as the primary subject matter expert and liaison for NTD reporting. Conduct regular quality control and validation of all data prior to submission.
- Reporting and Compliance : Compile and submit comprehensive monthly and annual reports covering financial, operational, safety, and asset data. Ensure adherence to all federal requirements, including NTD and ADA regulations, and act as the primary contact during the FTA review process.
- Analysis and Strategy : Analyze performance data to identify trends and suggest process improvements. Develop performance metrics and dashboards for leadership insights, contributing to strategic planning through NTD data analysis.
- Technology and Systems : Oversee the use of transit technology systems for data capture such as GPS tracking and automated fare collection. Collaborate with IT to maintain and optimize databases and reporting tools, supporting the integration of reporting platforms for streamlined data consolidation.
Qualifications :
Education and Experience : High School Diploma or equivalent with two years of experience in data management, financial reporting, or a similar role. Familiarity with federal funding and grant reporting is preferred.Skills and Abilities : Strong analytical skills to analyze data and develop solutions, along with advanced proficiency in spreadsheet applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and reporting software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective liaison with agency staff and federal representatives. Strong organizational skills for managing complex data and maintaining meticulous records. Leadership ability to guide other staff involved in data collection and reporting.Starting salary range : $70,354 - $78,171
