Team Lead Position
Texas Gas Service is looking for a team lead in our Materials Purchasing / Stores group. Leadership experience in a warehouse or supply chain capacity is required. The schedule is Monday-Friday 7 : 00a-4 : 00p. This posting will be removed on November 24th.
Performs team lead duties for purchasing and materials operations in a Material Distribution Center (MDC). Provide regular feedback and guidance to direct reports to improve proficiency in job duties and responsibilities as part of the performance management process. Conduct daily meetings with direct reports to provide feedback and coaching. Attend meetings with leadership to provide leadership support to MDC Supervisors regarding planning, strategy, system approvals, etc. Perform inventory control procedures, provide materials, process returns, receive purchase materials, complete daily cycle counts, resolve material discrepancies, maximize material storage, and assist with customer needs and concerns. Review, verify, approve, and provide guidance of administrative tasks for direct reports. Ensure accurate, complete, and timely (A.C.T.) completion of timesheets, vehicle / forklift inspections, Course Mill module completion, expense reporting, requisitions, cycle counts, and participate in interview / hiring process. Research, analyze, compile, and / or verify information including but not limited to : Bills of material and material requisitions Material requests Material reconciliation Compliance records Major material and property corrections Debit memos Completed projects Provide guidance to stakeholders regarding operational processes and guidelines. Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job. Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Associate's Degree Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job-related experience : Knowledge of company policies, MDC guidelines, inventory control processes, and inventory information systems. Ability to lead, develop, and train direct reports. Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively with internal and external customers. Experience and training relative to : Storeroom and inventory policies and procedures Managing storeroom access Company purchasing procedures and budgets Expediting processes Oracle ERP system and Meter Management System (MMS) to include inventory planning Microsoft Office products to include word, excel, and power point Maintaining physical and / or electronic filing systems Handling confidential and / or sensitive information Fleet vehicle inspections along with Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) reporting Ability to research and resolve purchase order and inventory issues. Previous experience with managing multiple assignments and priorities concurrently. Proven ability to function in a cohesive team environment to achieve departmental and company goals. Experience with capital project material reconciliation. Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English. Minimum Applicable driver's license Preferred Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Forklift Certification Preferred CDL Lift, push, pull, or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 20 25 times a day; up to 20 pounds 3 5 times a day; up to 30 pounds 3 5 times a day; up to 40 pounds 1-2 times a day; over 50 pounds 1-2 times a day. Safely maneuver over, under, and around shelving, pallets, meter baskets and equipment while working with inventory assets. Bending, kneeling, and other similar body positions while working inventory duties such as meter records, cycle counts, material pulling, and similar related tasks. Climbing on and off forklift 10-15 times a day. Walking on multiple services such as concrete, asphalt, rock, etc. Able to operate tools and equipment required. Communicate and / or exchange information and instruction. Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
