Job descriptionWork 12-hour day shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM Every other weekend requirement Holiday requirements include 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Years Nurse to patient ratio of 1 : 5-6 on a 55-bed unit Floating required to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients 2 days of unit-specific orientation provided Required certifications : BLS (AHA), ACLS preferred Must pass open book skills exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score to continue Care for patients with joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, orthopedic trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive Titrate drips including Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine; manage PCA pumps Basic telemetry awareness required as tele techs interpret strips Dress code requires navy blue scrubs Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities Driver's license required for submission Epic charting system utilized Focus on hourly rounding, responsiveness, and cultural competency Manage multiple discharges and admissions daily Referral bonus
