Reports To : Sr Department Manager & Program Engineer
Supervises : Engineer III, Engineer II, Engineer I, Designers and Draftspersons
Authorities / Responsibilities :
- Responsible for overseeing Department Goals for a specific project as directed by the Program Engineer and Sr Department Manager
- Responsible for preparing, overseeing and assigning design calculations and drawing development to support Program Goals
- Responsible for checking calculations
- Responsible for progressing all department work
Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience :
Minimum 7 plus years of design and / or construction experienceExcellent written and oral communication skillsUnderstanding of scheduling and an ability to adhere to strict deadlinesExperienced in interacting with Production, multiple design teams from several companies, customer representatives and equipment manufacturersComputer literate and familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office productsThorough knowledge of ship and propulsion systemsStrong working knowledge of Maritime Regulatory Authorities (i.e. ABS, DNV, GL, NAVSEA, MIL, USCG, IMO, etc.)Electrical / Controls Engineer : Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree or minimum 10 years of equivalent marine design experienceThorough knowledge of power distribution and lighting systemsThorough knowledge of automation, control and communication systemsStrong working knowledge of IEEE and NECPreferred Qualifications :
