American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position at a new off-campus emergency department, requiring a WA or compact RN license and strong emergency nursing skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a newly opened off-campus emergency department with 8-10 bedsPatient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics, including 25% pediatrics, walk-in traumas, cardiac, neuro, GI, respiratory, psych, and gunshot woundsPatient ratios are 1 : 4 for general assignments and 1 : 6 in the fast track with a team of RN and NPNo respiratory therapists or pharmacists onsite; RNs manage ventilators / BiPAP and mix their own medications under pharmacy video supervisionUses Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis medication systems12-hour night shifts with every other weekend rotationNo floating requiredSix-week scheduling blocksFree parking availableRNs will be responsible for direct patient care, including managing ventilators and BiPAP machinesMay be assigned charge nurse duties; training provided if neededTeam includes charge nurse, ED physician, ER tech, front desk, and phlebotomy support, but RNs are primarily responsible for blood drawsComprehensive orientation includes hospital orientation, a full day with the unit educator, an 8-hour respiratory class, and a full day on the unitFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionHoliday coverage is negotiableScrub color is flexible; any color is allowedUp to five days of requested time off (RTO) may be allowed\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN licenseMinimum two years full-time emergency department experience at any trauma levelCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, Advanced NRP, NIHSS, TNCCStrong IV, chest tube, and central line skills neededMust complete and pass a telemetry competency exam prior to startEpic charting experience preferred but not requiredRequired to mix medications and manage ventilators / BiPAP as training will be provided during onboardingMust be able to provide care for intubated patients\n Benefits\n
