NDT Technician - FPI 3rd shift

FPI processes product through degrease parts cleaning and processes parts through FPI processing line. Must be able to follow FPI general standard procedures. FPI grades the results of the FPI test to parts specific work instructions and separates the non-conforming parts and moves them to rework and moves the good product to next routed operations. Must pass eye exam and have 20 / 25 Snellen in at least one eye.

SUMMARY

Performs fluorescent penetrant processing of investment castings. FPI processes product through degrease parts cleaning and processes parts through FPI processing line. Must be able to follow FPI general standard procedures. FPI level 2 grades the results of the FPI test to parts specific work instructions and separates the non-conforming parts and moves them to rework and moves the good product to next routed operations. Must pass eye exam and have 20 / 25 Snellen in at least one eye.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent in life experience. 16 hours of formal classroom training to Chromalloy Castings GSP QD-001 FPI Level II Training Outlines or at least equivalent. 130 hours of documented OJT (Work Experience) in Penetrant testing.

CERTIFICATIONS

Must be certifiable to NAS 410 Level I PT.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
