Senior Engineer - Water Projects and Specifications

HDR is seeking a Senior Engineer to support impactful water projects within our Water Business Group and contribute to company-wide specification development. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a background in water, wastewater, or water resources who thrives in project environments and is also interested in shaping the tools and standards that support technical excellence across HDRs broader engineering practice.

This position will be approximately 50 percent focused on Water Business Group related work and 50 percent dedicated to HDRs Engineering Master Specifications System (MSS).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop specifications and construction documents for active water-related projects.
• Provide engineering support and guidance on specification and contract document development for project delivery.
• Support construction contract administration, including interpretation of specifications and resolution of claims.
• Assist the Engineering National Specifications Manager in maintaining, updating, and developing master specification content.
• Work with technical specialists across business groups to enhance HDRs MSS library of over 500 specifications.
• Support Alternative Delivery and Owners Advisor (AO) teams in tailoring specifications for various contracting environments.
• Educate staff on best practices, products, and specification development.
• Coordinate with Professional Services Director to prioritize and track technical specification development.
