Founded in 1965, the Stanford Computer Science (CS) Department continues to lead the world in computer science research and education. Throughout the past four decades, the Stanford CS Department has influenced society at levels that remain without parallel among academic institutions. Its spin-offs are among the most successful corporate ventures in the world, and many of the leaders in the academic and corporate research world are graduates of the Stanford CS Department.
The Computer Science Department has an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst in the Educational Affairs organization. This position calls for a dynamic, data-driven, process-oriented individual who is eager to partner with professionals across the organization. Daily responsibilities revolve around performing highly analytical complex finance functions, budgeting and forecasting scenarios, reconciliations and short-range and long-range planning and analysis, graduate student assistantship processing, student hourly hiring and timekeeping. We are looking for someone with the ability to multi-task and be extremely detail oriented, self-motivated and a team player. The candidate must also have excellent communication skills that allow high-level interactions with a diverse academic community. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Student Services for Educational Affairs.

Education & Experience (Required) : Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Required) : Advanced proficiency in business applications, such as Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel. User knowledge and demonstrated experience of financial systems; internet and computer literacy. Understanding and ability to apply basic accounting skills and concepts. Demonstrated communication skills, including ability to prepare materials for and clearly and effectively communicate information to internal audiences and client groups. Basic project management skills and ability to contribute as part of a project team.
Working Conditions : Routine extended working hours during peak cycles; travel to school / unit sites across university.

Pay Range : The expected pay range for this position is $95,090 to $107,332 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
