Data Center Technician III

Description

As a Data Center Technician you are a primary resolver for your support team skilled at troubleshooting and resolving most complex hardware infrastructure issues. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to effectively passdown knowledge of these technologies to junior staff. You have basic to intermediate system administration skills and where applicable are able to take on remote system administration tasks working in a virtual team. You have the ability to automate tasks with scripts when necessary. You work autonomously to resolve most support issues. You are able to execute small projects on your own and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. You act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on his / her own but also know how to take direction when it is given paying attention to all details involved.

All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations :

Regularly lift and / or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds

Ability to work in an environment that operates 24 / 7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed

Working in cramped and / or elevated and / or noisy environments

Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day

Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

Basic qualifications

1+ years of relevant experience in data center operations, IT support, or a similar technical field

1+ years of troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve undefined technical problems

Willingness to participate in a primary responder rotation and support 24 / 7 data center operations

Preferred candidate requirements :

Preferred qualifications

Experience working in a Data Center environment

Understanding of network design, protocols, troubleshooting, and in-depth hardware knowledge (e.g., PCIe)

Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.

Confirm degree / certifications if applicable :

An Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional or military experience in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, networking engineering, etc.) A+ Certification, Networking + Confirm KPI- as far as key performance indicators go what would be the

Top thing you're evaluating them on :

Ticket Resolves, lower Dwell time

Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to technicians and management as needed / required

This is a Contract position based out of Lithia Springs, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00 / hr.
