The Sports Coach, under the supervision of the Director of Sports and the Sports Manager, serves as a member of the agency's professional staff with responsibilities that at times extend beyond the limits of his/her functions. He/she works within the framework of the total agency program and objectives to which his/her program is related to total membership.
JOB FUNCTION:
• Ensure all spaces of the Sports Department are clean and orderly. Including but not limited to the indoor gym courts 1 and 2, outdoor pickleball courts, field, supply closet, and sports office.
• Under the supervision of the Sports Manager, the Sports Coach is responsible for assisting and managing the proper function of Adult and Youth Sports programs.
• A non-exhausted list of duties includes scorekeeping, sweeping courts, cleaning out court cages, restocking supplies, program set up and tear down, ensuring positive relations with members and guests, adhering to safety protocols, and more.
• Always provide excellent customer service, recognizing the importance of community relations.
• Wear proper uniform.
• Use best judgment on phone usage when clocked in, recognizing duties and interactions with guests, members, and staff comes first.
• Work closely with fellow staff in a positive and productive manner.
• Communicate closely with supervisory staff on topics including but not limited to programs, staff, members, availability changes, time off requests, unforeseen absences, and more.
• At all times you will serve as a membership recruiter.
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Flexible work hours with shifts primarily in evenings and occasional weekends.
SUMMARY:
• Qualified candidates must be organized, self-motivated, adhere to position duties and responsibilities, as well as ensure a productive and professional atmosphere.
• Candidates must also exhibit strong customer service skills and excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Prior experience in athletic related field
• Prior experience with duties aligning to position (high focus on scorekeeping, understanding the rules of each sport, ability to recognize referee calls)
