Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Exempt, Full-time employee.

Standard days and hours of work are Four, 10-hour days

• Summary / Objective :

The Nurse Practitioner provides health care assessment, treatment, and follow-up commensurate with clinical skills that comply with clinical guidelines, administrative policies / protocols of Great Mines Health Center (GMHC), the State of Missouri, and accrediting / funding agencies.

• Essential Functions :
• Conduct health assessments of patients at GMHC.
• Develop impression of diagnosis and a treatment plan in collaboration with physician.
• Order / perform and interpret routine laboratory tests.
• Develop a health promotion and maintenance plan, including disease prevention, health education and counseling.
• Provide care for selected complicated patients as directed and supervised by department physician(s).
• Arrange referrals as needed to other members of the health care team in accordance with GMHC policies / procedures and / or third-party payers.
• Attends and participates in professional staff and committee meetings.
• Documents complete findings in EMR (Electronic Medical Record) in a timely fashion and completes notes and messaging within GMHC policy guidelines.
• Participates in on-call after-hours rotation with other providers.
• Consistently achieves productivity goals by seeing a combination of scheduled and unscheduled patients.
• Submits the specified amount of patient records to collaborating physician for review in accordance with Missouri collaborative requirements.
• Coordinate / collaborate with other GMHC covering physicians.
• Demonstrate compliance with continuing education requirements for licensure / certification in a timely manner.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times including maintaining computer security.
• Complete all trainings required by GMHC in a timely fashion.
• Be available to work clinic hours as assigned by GMHC.
• Conforms to the attendance policy.
• Provide care for both scheduled and unscheduled patients.
• Will operate as a team player, realizing and respecting each team members role / importance in providing positive treatment outcomes.
• Other duties as assigned by Medical Director.
• Physical Demands :

Be able to sit, stand, and work in uncomfortable conditions for short amount of time, as well as able to lift 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

• Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience :
• State of Missouri Nurse Practitioner certification and license.
• Three to five years clinical experience in out-patient setting, preferred.
• Demonstrates integrity; is ethical in conduct and decision making.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Thorough knowledge of professional medical and behavioral theory and practices.
• CPR / BLS certification.
• Obtain and maintain specialization as required for NP.
