We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Professional (Part-Time Weekends) to provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or aging-related needs in a residential or community-based setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable populations and possess excellent interpersonal skills to foster a supportive and empowering environment.
Responsibilities :
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging them in social and recreational activities.
- Administer medications and monitor clients' health and well-being, reporting any concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals.
- Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs, including transfers and wheelchair assistance.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting daily activities and progress.
- Encourage client independence and support skill development through individualized care plans.
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to improve skills and knowledge in the field.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or GEDMinimum [1] years of experience working as a Direct Care Professional or in a similar caregiving role.Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with disabilities or chronic illnesses.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Patience, empathy, and a commitment to client-centered care.Ability to lift, transfer, and provide physical assistance to clients as needed.
