CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills (CSRH-WH) is a 150-bed hospital serving the rapidly growing area of San Antonio. Our specialized services include orthopedic and surgical care, ICU, women's health, comprehensive cardiovascular care, and much more. The campus is equipped with an Outpatient Imaging Center and medical plazas, including the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program.

Summary :

As a Clinical Educator II, you will work closely with the Department Head to identify the educational needs of our nursing staff. You will develop tailored programs to meet these needs and assess their effectiveness. Your role will include orienting new staff, mentoring preceptors, and ensuring competency validation throughout the year.

Responsibilities :

  • Identify the educational needs of nursing staff to enhance knowledge, skills, and performance standards.
  • Plan and implement educational offerings that align with the unit and institution's goals as well as staff needs.
  • Organize and lead educational programs for staff focusing on orientation, skills training, clinical practice, and professional development.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of development programs in relation to goals and the quality of nursing care services.
  • Provide expert consultation to other units utilizing your clinical and staff development expertise.
  • Research and develop standards of care for your specialty area.
  • Act as a liaison between the Educational Resources Department and your nursing unit.
  • Manage and oversee the distribution of educational funding in collaboration with the Department Head.
  • Support staff in creating educational projects and programs.
  • Serve as a resource for staff providing patient care.
  • Participate in relevant hospital committees.
  • Contribute to employee performance evaluations.
  • Exhibit competence in performing duties to meet the age-specific and developmental needs of patients.
  • Customize assessment and treatment methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations from state and federal agencies and the hospital.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Adhere to the core values of Santa Rosa Health Care.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements : Education / Skills :

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
  • Experience :

  • A minimum of 5 years in the specialty area.
  • Prior experience in education for adult learners is essential.
  • Licensure / Certification :

  • Active RN license in Texas is required.
  • CPR certification is required; ACLS or PALS is preferred.
  • Certification in a specialty area is preferred.
  • Work Schedule : 5 Days - 8 Hours
