Job Goal

The School Psychologist will support students by facilitating their best possible adjustment to school through a comprehensive program of psychological services. The goal is to enhance the educational experience of students by addressing intellectual, emotional, social, and behavioral needs in collaboration with educators, families, and school teams.

Qualifications

NASP- or ASP-approved School Psychologist degree

Eligible for or currently hold State School Psychologist certification and licensure

Successful completion of a supervised internship in school psychology

Valid National Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) Certificate

  • Bilingual (Preferred)

Essential Functions

Serve as a permanent member of an interdisciplinary child study team to provide psychological services

Evaluate students’ intellectual, academic, behavioral, perceptual-motor, social-emotional, and readiness skills

Interpret psycho-educational findings and conduct conferences with staff and families

Provide consultation for students, parents, and professional staff

Participate in follow-up services related to psychological evaluations and interventions

Serve as a member of the placement committee for exceptional students

Contribute to curriculum, group testing, guidance, and research committees as appropriate

Evaluate psychological service programs and job performance, submitting reports as requested

Facilitate school-wide intervention programs such as Instructional Support Teams, Positive Behavior Support, and Response to Intervention (RTI)

Assist with in-service training and maintain ongoing professional growth and development

Collaborate with staff to create behavior management plans for identified students

Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership
