50-Mile Radius Rule : All submissions must include a copy of the candidate’s unexpired driver’s license. Licensing hits must be disclosed at the time of submission.\n\nUnit Details : \n\n# of Beds : 10\n\nNurse : Patient Ratios : 1 : 2–3\n\nRequired Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS\n\nCommon Diagnoses / Patients : Respiratory distress, post-arrest, acute MI, balloon pumps, ventilated patients, vasopressor support (no ICP monitoring)\n\nExperience & Skills : \n\nMinimum 3 years ICU experience\n\nBalloon pump experience required\n\nComfortable with ventilator management and titration of drips\n\nRNs are required to titrate drips (vasopressors, levo, neo, epi, nitro, heparin, angio, etc.)\n\nStaffing : \n\nCharge nurse present, takes full patient assignment\n\nNurse aides / PCTs available, not 24 / 7 (typically midnight–7 PM)\n\nHospitalist / Intensivist on-call at night, not in-house 24 / 7\n\nRespiratory Therapist available 24 / 7, manages vents, trachs, BiPAP / CPAP, Airvo; nurses troubleshoot as appropriate\n\nNurses read and interpret telemetry; no dedicated tele / monitor techs\n\nScheduling : \n\nRN shifts : 7 : 00–19 : 00; 6 : 45–19 : 15 for days\n\n4-week schedule; staff can propose ideal schedule; final schedule approved afterward\n\nWeekend Requirement : Every other weekend\n\nHoliday Requirement : May rotate\n\nCall / standby : None\n\nTravelers float to any inpatient unit; travelers first to float\n\nDress Code : Navy Blue\nOrientation : 1 day general orientation + 1 day with preceptor\nAdditional Notes : Not a closed unit; primary physicians manage patient care
