JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE : Optometrist DEPARTMENT : Health

CLASSIFICATION : Exempt

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Perform comprehensive eye exams
• Complete necessary prescriptions for eye glasses and / or contact lenses
• Prescribe medications as needed
• Diagnose and assist in treatment of ocular eye disease
• Educate patients on eye health including disease management
• Pre- and post- operation care
• Work with other medical staff for coordination of care
• Electronic record charting for continuity of care
• Supervision of Opticians and other support staff
• Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains department performance
• Clean and maintain daily equipment and seek service when needed
• Other duties as assigned.
