Job description

Associate Director Of Operations For Perioperative Services

The Associate Director of Operations for Perioperative Services is responsible for overseeing staff, operations, and resources to ensure optimal results and high employee engagement to support the vision, mission, and priorities of the System Vice President of Perioperative and Procedural Services for the Mount Sinai Health System. The Associate Director ensures that the department, which includes operating rooms, endoscopy suites, and other procedural locations as needed, is run according to institutional policies and any applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Oversees operations within assigned department; uses data and fact-based problem-solving techniques to improve processes and outcomes. Ensures that all operations run according to institutional and departmental policies and in accordance with any government or regulatory requirements.

2. Recruits, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, mentors, disciplines, and evaluates staff in accordance with all internal policies and procedures. Communicates values, strategies, and objectives of department or division on a regular basis. Assigns accountabilities, delegates tasks and responsibilities, and plans, monitors, and appraises job performance.

3. Advises on items that affect departmental budgets with financial responsibility and oversight for department or division.

4. Plans, develops, and / or maintains departmental system standardized operating procedures. Regularly reviews policies and procedures and makes changes, or recommends changes to superiors as necessary.

5. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

6. Provide leadership for staff members in the form of ongoing training, performance feedback, goal setting, and problem resolution; cultivate a culture of innovation and creativity in service of better patient care.

7. Builds and sustains positive relationships with stakeholders and partners to drive the work including practicing exemplary professionalism and communication skills.

8. Utilizes data, process improvement, change management, and organizational skills to create effective and sustainable improvements.

9. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in public health / administration or business or a related field or equivalent education and experience; Masters (MPA, MPH, MBA or related) is preferred.

2. 5-7 years of experience in a professional business environment, with health related, project management, and supervisory experience preferred.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $100,000- $160,000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses / incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
