About The Position

Job Title : Certified Surgical Technologist

Hours per Shift : 8 hours (6 : 45 AM – 3 : 15 PM)

Experience : 3+ years of experience required

License : NBSTSA certification required

Certifications : BLS (AHA), NBSTSA

Must-Have : Experience with Ortho, Sports Medicine, OB / GYN, Ophthalmic, and Urology required

Must be willing to accept a 32-hour guarantee

Description :

This individual fills the role of Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room.

The Surgical Technologist understands and demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures.

Ensures all supplies and equipment are available for the procedure and in working condition.

Confirms and assembles sterile instruments for use correctly.

Anticipates the needs of the surgeon.

Assists in keeping accurate accounts of medications, sharps, instruments, and sponges.

Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the sterile field.

Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures and ability to problem-solve in relation to the procedure performed.

Verifies items on the physician preference card.

Accountable for supplies so that accurate patient charges are billed.

Demonstrates proper use of equipment, assembling of disposables as well as cleaning and sterilizing.

Assures all equipment, supplies, and instruments are assembled correctly and in working condition for the surgical procedure.

Maintains the sterile environment.

Monitors the sterile field and recognizes breaks in technique.

Sets up the sterile field with instruments in a timely manner.

Keeps an accurate account of all medications, sponges, instruments, and sharps on the sterile fields per policy.

One night call per week and one weekend per four-week schedule is required.
