Job descriptionPatient Care : Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnose mental health conditions, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing management of acute and chronic psychiatric issues. Medication Management : Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, ensuring effective treatment and managing side effects. Therapeutic Services : Provide psychotherapy and counseling to individuals and groups, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities. Collaboration : Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care. Documentation : Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies. Education : Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. Education : Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health. Licensure : Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of North Carolina. Certification : Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Experience : Previous experience in psychiatric nursing preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations will be considered. Skills : Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Language : Second language proficiency in French, Swahili, or Creole is a PLUS. Base Salary : Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.
