About The Position

Job Title : Sterile Processing Tech Profession : Surgical Services Specialty : Sterile Processing Technologist Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Mid 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift : 8 hours (15 : 00 - 23 : 00) Experience : 5 years required License : Valid state license required Certifications : CBSPD or IAHCSMM / HSPA, either certification accepted Must-Have : - 5 years of experience in sterile processing - Certification from CBSPD or IAHCSMM / HSPA - Skills in acute hospital operating room procedures - Proficiency in decontamination and disinfection processes - Knowledge of proper sterilization techniques and equipment Description : The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, processed, and sterilized. This role requires expertise in manual cleaning procedures and the use of chemical agents and disinfectants. Aseptic techniques and proper organization of surgical trays and instruments are essential for success in this position. The tech will be involved in the preparation and handling of case carts and must ensure proper labeling and selection of wrapping materials. Experience with endoscope reprocessing and assembly of surgical sets and trays is a must. Knowledge of sterilization monitoring and testing, including biological and chemical indicators, is required. Familiarity with various specialty equipment processing, including bariatric, cardiac, and orthopedic instruments, is necessary. The position may involve exposure to patients with COVID-19, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols. Candidates should be versatile and have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Interdisciplinary support and collaboration with surgical teams are essential components of the role.
