Test Lead

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Test Lead to join our team in Stafford, VA .

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Serves as a subject matter expert in software testing, with extensive experience and deep technical knowledge in testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and quality assurance practices.

Leads the development and implementation of comprehensive test strategies, plans, and processes across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, industry best practices, and agile-informed development methodologies.

Provides expert guidance and mentorship to Testers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Leads the design and implementation of complex test environments, overseeing the execution of various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, security, and usability.

Analyzes test results, identifies defects and issues, and provides detailed reports and recommendations to improve software quality and mitigate risks.

Champions the adoption of advanced testing techniques, such as test automation, performance testing, and security testing, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to integrate testing activities seamlessly into the software development lifecycle.

Stays abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in software testing, and provides direction and mentorship to subordinate staff.

Minimum Qualifications :

BA / BS in field necessary to assume Test Lead or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree

12 years of experience with 9+ years of relevant Test Lead experience.

7+ years of experience in software testing, with 3+ years in a lead role.

Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, including advanced techniques like exploratory testing, risk-based testing, and model-based testing.

Proven ability to design and implement comprehensive test strategies for complex software systems.

Extensive experience with various testing levels and types, including performance, security, and usability testing.

Expertise in test automation frameworks and tools, with a strong understanding of scripting languages and automation best practices.

Experience with building and leading high-performing Testing Teams.

Strong knowledge of agile-informed and DevOps principles, with experience in integrating testing into CI / CD pipelines.

ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager certification or equivalent.

Must have a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification.

Preferred Qualifications :

Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Contributions to the testing community through publications, presentations, or open-source projects.

Experience with emerging testing technologies and trends, such as AI-powered testing and test data generation.

Experience with testing in regulated industries, such as healthcare or finance.

Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).

Experience with security testing tools and techniques (e.g., OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite).

Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Clearance Requirements :

• Must have a current / active TS / SCI clearance.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to remain in stationary position for up to 50% of the time.

Must be able to deliver clear and effective communication verbally and via email, phone, and virtual communication platforms to interface with co-workers and customers.
