The Chief Medical Executive will play a pivotal role in leading and training primary care providers (PCPs) at their assigned center. This individual is accountable for maximizing core model execution, enhancing clinical quality, and improving outcomes, all while ensuring clinician and patient satisfaction. Alongside management tasks, a portion of time will be dedicated to delivering direct patient care as a PCP, depending on the number of direct reports. The remaining time will focus on leadership duties, including monitoring PCP performance and nurturing a collaborative clinical-operations culture.
Key Responsibilities :
- Deliver compassionate care to patients with both acute and chronic illnesses in older adults.
- Take ownership of patient care and outcomes, seeking consultation from specialists while maintaining an active role in patient management.
- Engage with hospitalists for patients admitted to the hospital, fostering comprehensive care.
- Conduct assessments, diagnoses, treatments, management, patient education, health promotion, and documentation for those with complex health needs.
- Lead a dedicated care team including medical assistants, care facilitators, and care coordinators.
- Collaborate with transitional care teams for patients unable to visit the office.
- Facilitate weekly Super Huddles and Transforming Care Meetings to enhance team communication and effectiveness.
- Participate in center management, assist with patient recruitment, and support hiring additional providers.
- Mentor and coach PCPs to achieve outstanding clinical results.
- Engage in leadership rounding with PCPs and collaborate with Center Operations Director to improve financial performance and center membership.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications :
MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty is required.Current, active MD licensure in the respective state is mandatory.At least 1 year of clinical experience in a geriatrics, adult or family practice setting is preferred, ideally with experience in ChenMed.Completion of Chen Medical training is part of the professional development plan.Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a similar specialty is preferred, while Board Eligibility is required.Maintain board certification through necessary MOC and CME as required.A current DEA number for controlled substances is essential.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within first 90 days of employment.At ChenMed, we are revolutionizing healthcare for seniors, aiming to provide the highest quality of care.
