Desert Hand and Physical Therapy opened its doors in 1997 with one therapist and an office manager, who shared common goals of providing patients with the best and most qualified upper-extremity care in the Valley of the Sun. Today, Desert Hand and Physical Therapy has grown to 10 locations around the Valley. Although we have grown to meet the needs of a population that has exploded in size, our goals have remained the same. With Certified Hand Therapists (CHT) at each location and several licensed physical therapists, our team can provide expert individualized treatment to each patient experiencing trauma, illness, or injury.

Job Description
Desert Hand and Physical Therapy has an immediate opportunity for a full-time bilingual Patient Care Coordinator to join our fun and talented team. As a bilingual Patient Care Coordinator , you will work directly with the clinic manager and providers to coordinate and organize patient EMR charts, scheduling and managing the front desk. As the coordinator, greeting patients and assisting with their questions is required to build trust and loyalty with them and our community. When you join Desert Hand and PT, you’ll participate in a One-on-One training program to succeed in your role.
Job Duties :
Kind and compassionate patient and employee service.Adhere to the company’s CORE VALUES, policies, procedures, and government regulations.Following strict HIPAA lawsMaintaining patient schedulesFollow laws for scheduling appointments based on insurance.Prepping of the patient schedules to verify patient is eligible to be seen (ex; visit counts, authorizations, eligibility)Collect and balance daily patient copayments; Upload financial information into the Portal and other necessary EMR spaces for compliance of patient financials.Answering multiline phone system.Communicating with your team needs via instant messages.Verify new patient insurance eligibility; obtaining and managing authorization visits for physical / occupational therapy & splints, and explaining coverage / benefits to patientsTime Management : Minor reportsClear understanding of the services provided and have ability to explain to callers how we can assistManage petty cash flow of the clinic.Manage clinic schedule for all therapistsOrder office suppliesAdditional tasks as assigned by the ManagerQualifications
High school graduate or equivalentMust be bilingual in SpanishExcellent telephone skillsProficient in Word and ExcelPreferred experience with Medical Manager, Medisoft, or other medical softwareTeam player attitude, energetic, with a focus on excellent customer serviceFlexibility with hoursAttention to detailTime management skillsOrganization and ability to multi-taskAdditional Information
