Job Title : Associate Attorney (Employment Law)

Location : (Hybrid) Commutable distance to 1 of 10 offices.

Client Partnership : We are representing a prominent and well respected employment law firm, dedicated to the defense of employers, supporting a diverse spectrum of employer clients.

Role Overview : We’re seeking a driven and skilled Associate Attorney (Employment Law).

With a remote-first approach with a conservative on-site presence, this position offers the flexibility modern attorneys value while keeping you connected to top-tier colleagues and clients across the state. With multiple offices in Southern and Northern California (including Orange County, Los Angeles, and Sacramento), you’ll have the support of a respected infrastructure while practicing with autonomy and purpose.

Core Responsibilities :

  • Advocate on behalf of employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators
  • Prepare correspondence to clients
  • Draft pleadings
  • Attend court appearances
  • Manage calendar
  • Conduct depositions and cross-examinations of doctors
  • Negotiate settlements
  • Proactive case management
  • Mentor and manage legal assistant
  • Establish relationships with clients, co-workers, and vendors
  • Attend marketing events with new and existing clients
  • Review and work on files, enter time into billing software
  • Input case information into PracticeMaster
  • Meet deadlines for client correspondence
  • Attend client meetings
  • Conduct training seminars for clients on changing employment laws
  • Understand and maintain current knowledge of employment law and statutes
  • All other duties or tasks, as needed.

Essentials :

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Must have experience in compliance, employee handbooks, employment law defense, and litigation
  • Must have a well-established and exclusive employment litigation, defense background
  • School district defense experience required
  • Commitment to proactive case management

    Compensation :

    The projected annual salary is estimated at the range $110,000 - $140,000 per year, based on years of experience and demonstrated expertise. The actual starting rate of pay may vary based on factors that include, but are not limited to, the position offered, work experience, education, training, and commensurate experience.
