Construction Project Manager, Mechanical
As a Construction Project Manager, Mechanical, you will play a critical role in managing and executing fast-paced complex Central Utility construction projects from start to finish. You will work closely with your project team, design team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Your technical expertise, organizational skills, and ability to effectively communicate will be key in coordinating and facilitating various aspects of the construction process.
Responsibilities
- Development of project plans, scopes of work, schedules, and budgets
- Coordinate with the project superintendents to establish project objectives, deliverables, and timelines
- Collaborate with the design team, architects, and engineers to review plans, specifications, and drawings including resolving design clashes
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and progress reports
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, local authorities, and industry standards
- Monitor and audit project costs, invoices, & billings, comparing actuals against the budget while also Identifying cost-saving opportunities and suggest value engineering alternatives
- Conduct regular project meetings to discuss progress, milestones, and upcoming activities
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience (Preferably Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management - Master's degree is not a requirement but a plus)3-5 years of construction experience, including mechanical, plumbing, and / or process systems (Under 10 years' experience ideal for this role)Strong knowledge of construction practices, codes, regulations, and safety protocolsAbility to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with tight timelines and aggressive goals. Willingness to work long hours, with a tenacious and ambitious approach to project goalsProficiency in project management software, design tools, and scheduling softwareAbility to problem solve and make difficult decisions rooted in data. Confident in decision making ability and coordinating among key stakeholdersRequires experience in plumbing and both dry and wet mechanical systems. Experience in Data Center and / or Chiller Plant Construction is preferred
