This is a responsible, professional position with the Florida Department of Health, Division of Children's Medical Services, Bureau of Early Steps and Newborn Screening. The incumbent in this position will require commensurate skill, professional judgment, and knowledge to coordinate activities related to the planning and implementing of a statewide system of early intervention services for young children and their families. The position performs the functions required under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part C and Part III of Chapter 391, Florida Statutes) related to the Early Steps program. The individual in this position is responsible for monitoring of programs and activities in the state to ensure that the state complies with all requirements in IDEA, Part C, state statutes, and enforce any obligations imposed on agencies.
