Job Description & Requirements Specialty : CVOR Discipline : RN Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Travel We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse to join our surgical services team for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical expertise in open-heart and cardiovascular procedures, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This role is integral in supporting surgeons and ensuring safe, efficient surgical performance in a specialized OR setting. Responsibilities Provide perioperative nursing care for cardiac surgical cases, including CABG, valves, aortic surgery, and other cardiovascular procedures Function as a circulating nurse; scrub experience a plus Ensure strict adherence to sterile technique and OR safety protocols Manage and prepare specialty equipment (e.g., bypass, TEE, grafting instruments) DaVinci XI Experience Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and surgical techs Monitor patient status and advocate for safe, evidence-based surgical care Participate in room turnover and equipment troubleshooting Requirements Active RN license (CA state) Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience Strong proficiency circulating cardiovascular surgical cases Scrub experience preferred but not required Experience with : CABG, valve replacements, thoracic procedures, vascular cases, aortic repair BLS and ACLS (AHA) required About American Consultants Since 1989, American Consultants has been the leader in national healthcare staffing and consulting services.
