Accounts Receivable Specialist

Brooklyn, NY | On-site

We're partnering with a well-established nonprofit organization rooted in community development and social impact to find a detail-driven Accounts Receivable Specialist . This is a fantastic opportunity to join a mission-focused team that's making a tangible difference in the lives of New Yorkers.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage revenue accounts across multiple contracts using Financial Edge NXT.
  • Record and reconcile deposits (EFT, checks, cash) and maintain accurate AR documentation.
  • Generate invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables, including government and private funders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and support audits.
  • Prepare AR aging reports and assist with month-end and year-end closings.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve AR processes.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar finance role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; Financial Edge NXT experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven environment.
