Job Description

General Summary

Under general supervision, perform team leader responsibilities in processes to decontaminate, prepare, sterilize, store and issue medical / surgical instruments, supplies and equipment in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.

• Assists Manager or Supervisor in determining work priorities, assuring that all tasks are accomplished in a timely manor by monitoring and directing the daily work activities of Central Sterile processing personnel.

Monitors department protocols as part of the department quality assurance program by auditing daily work processes and procedures, and assures appropriate corrections are made where / and when necessary.

Conducts the inventory of disposable supplies, cleaning solutions, replacement instruments and minor equipment.
