Job description

Do you want to join a growing team with the opportunity to work with and treat horses daily? The Equine Specialty Hospital in Burton, Ohio is adding another full time

  • Registered Veterinary Technician
  • to our team. The hours are daytime, mainly Monday through Friday. Emergency on call schedule (evenings and weekends) will be shared with 4 other RVT's.
  • Prerequisites include a strong equine background and must be licensed in the state of Ohio.
  • Previous anesthesia experience is not required. Anesthesia training will be provided. Duties include :
  • Administration of anesthesia for both emergency and elective surgeries
  • Monitoring and treating hospitalized horses
  • Administration of medications to hospitalized horses
  • Holding horses and assisting Doctors during procedures and treatments
  • Assisting with surgeries(both emergencies and elective)
  • Ensure hospital is clean and organized

A strong work ethic, willingness to work as part of a team, and

  • strong horse-handling skills
  • are required. Wages are based on experience and being on call for emergencies. Located 30 minutes east of Cleveland, the hospital provides referral services in surgery, sports medicine, internal medicine, diagnostics, and rehabilitation to horses. All services are performed in-house. The hospital is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week for emergencies and care of hospitalized horses.
