We are Active Confectionery Company (activegummy.com) seeking a Quality Engineer with strong foundational skills in core quality engineering tools and an enthusiasm for building robust product and process specifications within a regulated manufacturing environment driving down cost of poor quality. This position plays a key role in ensuring product compliance, process capability, and continuous improvement across our dietary supplement operations governed by 21 CFR 111 and 117
The ideal candidate brings the analytical rigor often seen in regulated manufacturing environments and applies it to a dynamic, growing nutraceutical environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve product and process specifications in alignment with regulatory and internal quality standards.
- Lead and support SPC (Statistical Process Control) implementation, process capability analysis, and data-driven performance monitoring using Minitab or equivalent tools.
- Conduct and manage Measurement System Analyses (MSA) to ensure accuracy and repeatability of critical measurements.
- Facilitate and maintain PFMEA and DFMEA documents; drive feedback loops between FMEAs, control plans, and corrective action processes.
- Lead structured root cause analysis and corrective action using methods such as 8D 5 Why , and Ishikawa (fishbone)
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Production, R&D, Maintenance, and Supply Chain) to integrate preventive quality into daily operations and new product introductions.
- Support supplier quality initiatives and participate in audits or supplier capability reviews when required.
- Assist in developing and maintaining control plans , inspection standards, and verification procedures.
- Support data integrity and documentation compliance in accordance with FDA cGMP (21 CFR 111 / 117) and internal QMS requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or related discipline required).3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (dietary supplements, food, pharmaceutical, or automotive preferred).Demonstrated proficiency in core quality engineering toolsSPC and process capability (strong Minitab or statistical software experience required)MSAPFMEA / DFMEAControl PlansRoot Cause Analysis (8D, 5 Why, etc.)Familiarity with FDA cGMP regulations (21 CFR 111 and 117) or other regulated quality systems preferred.Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Preferred Attributes
