Position Overview
The HPA Quality Assurance (QA) Assistant serves a critical role in the QA program at HPA. Duties include information management, analysis of medical data contained in the hospitals Electronic Medical Record (EMR), or Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and physician's offices. This position works directly with the QA Coordinator and the Pathologist Director of Quality Assurance (PDQA) to help oversee the group's quality initiatives and Lean projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collect, analyze, and present medical data via Excel and the EMR (Epic) for quality control and pathologists data requests.
Work directly with HPA QA Coordinator and PDQA to assist with quality improvement initiatives, Lean projects, and research projects.
Responsibilities include collecting subspecialty data for diagnostic rates and outcomes, running EMR reports in Epic to aggregate and analyze data (e.g., certain diagnoses or specimens), updating internal practice management documents, supporting process improvement projects, and assisting with quality assurance goals and objectives as requested.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in life sciences, data analytics, statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer
science, or a related field
1-2 years of experience in a related position is preferred
Advanced proficiency in analysis techniques and related software tools
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and communication skills
Demonstrated problem-solving and process improvement skills
Work and manage time efficiently in a team environment
Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented
