About the Role

The Company is in search of its next President, a strategic servant leader with a strong Christian faith background, to uphold and advance the institution's mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for nurturing a vibrant culture that is deeply committed to the educational and spiritual development of its students, in line with the University's distinctiveness. This role demands a leader who can foster a sense of belonging and community, lead with an ethic of love and graciousness, and navigate the future with courage, boldness, and humility. The President will be a figurehead for the educational, spiritual, and community life, and must be able to uphold the faith and educational objectives of the University, as well as support its central statement of faith and the broader Christian values.

Candidates for the Presidency must have an earned terminal degree and a minimum of ten years of demonstrated leadership in an academic or similar setting. A personal strong affinity for the University's Christian values is essential, with a preference for those who are members of the Brethren in Christ denomination or from a theological tradition that aligns with the Anabaptist, Pietist, and Wesleyan framework. The ideal candidate will be able to commit to the University's motto of Christ Pre-eminent and to the courageous middle, embodying a delicate balance of wisdom, courage, thoughtfulness, and compassion. The role requires a leader who can focus on institutional mission and purpose, and who is prepared to engage with the community in a manner that is consistent with the University's faith-based values.
