Position Summary
An exciting opportunity is available for a Maintenance Technician / General Mechanical professional to join a leading production facility in Danbury, Connecticut . This role is responsible for supporting the maintenance and operation of large-scale chemical manufacturing equipment.
The Maintenance Technician assists with pipe cutting, preassembly, and installation of plumbing systems and components, while also monitoring production systems to ensure proper function. This position plays a vital role in building, testing, repairing, and modifying equipment to maintain efficient and safe production operations.
Current Shift Available :
- Shifts : 2nd Shift : Mon–Fri, 2 : 30pm–11 : 00pm
- 3rd Shift : Sunday – Friday, 10 : 30 PM – 7 : 00 AM
Pay : $55,000–$70,000 per year (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain chilled water, steam, heat, gas, drainage, and other plumbing systems.Operate reamers, threading discs, sewer tapes, pipe cutters, snakes, and related hand and power tools.Assist with the installation and replacement of hot and cold water lines, heating systems, valves, traps, and backflow prevention devices.Fabricate replacement parts and components using machine tools as needed.Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.Maintain accurate logs of equipment operational status and service records.Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery when required.Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, plumbing, or a related field.A technical certification or license in a plumbing-related field may substitute for experience.Knowledge of pumps, boilers, heaters, and other mechanical systems.Skilled in troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining plumbing and HVAC systems.Ability to read and follow technical manuals, schematics, and safety guidelines.Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a chemical manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.Knowledge of current technology, tools, and practices in mechanical systems maintenance.Location & Employment Type
