QA Test Engineer

Our Software team is looking for a

QA Test Engineer to help us in our mission. The QA Test Engineer role supports our Software, Database, and Systems Engineering teams by testing our proprietary Image Generator (pc-Nova) by creating automated tests via scripts as well as maintaining our proprietary test system.  Our test system is designed to ensure that pc-Nova performs at high framerates on high-end hardware such as projectors, MR headsets, etc.  This position requires Python programming expertise in order to maintain our current setup as well as build new test features as needed.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Aechelon successfully transitioned to a Hybrid Work model for a majority of employees. Since the QA Test Engineer position occasionally requires the use of in-office specialized hardware, including MR headsets and 120Hz testing configurations, the Hybrid Work requirement for this role consists of 2 days per week in-office at the company’s South San Francisco location, while the remaining 3 days per week can be worked remotely from a home office.  Note that this requirement can change based on the applicant's familiarity with our test system infrastructure.

The primary workplace for this position is Aechelon Technology’s South San Francisco Headquarters.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following :

• Maintain the proprietary Python code for our automated test system
• Maintain + expand our Jenkins scripting to improve our automated test suite
• Create new automation scripts for complex testing requirements (stress tests, performance tests, special features, etc)
• Create and maintain an image diffing test suite
• Develop test plans and design automated tests using our proprietary test system
• Perform manual testing on new features for software releases when needed
• Communicate with other team members across time zones
• Be a resource for others to learn from about how to use our test system
• Help to document our test system for internal and external users

$102,000 - $170,000 a year

The above range is specific to CALIFORNIA and may not be applicable to other locations. The pay scale for this role is between $102,000 - $170,000. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
