An Automotive Title Clerk handles the paperwork required for transferring vehicle ownership, including preparing and processing title and registration documents, verifying ownership, and submitting legal documents to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, calculating fees, and coordinating with customers, sales, and finance departments to ensure smooth vehicle sales and transfers.
Requirements :
- Title & Registration Processing : Process and manage vehicle titles, registration paperwork, and license plates for new and used vehicles.
- Document Verification : Verify the accuracy of all documentation and resolve any discrepancies before submission.
- Legal Compliance : Ensure all title and registration paperwork is complete and compliant with state and federal laws and regulations.
- DMV Liaison : Submit legal transfer documents and liaise with the DMV or relevant government offices to ensure proper processing.
- Record Keeping : Maintain detailed, accurate records of all title and registration transactions.
- Customer Assistance : Provide information and assistance to customers regarding title and registration processes.
- Financial Calculations : Calculate and collect appropriate fees for vehicle transfers and registrations.
- Coordination : Work closely with sales and finance departments to gather necessary documents and ensure timely completion of transactions.
