Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dermatology Medical Assistant to support clinical operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will assist dermatologists and medical staff with patient care, administrative tasks, and clinical procedures. Duties
- Assist dermatologists with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of treatment plans.
- Support clinical procedures such as medication administration, basic wound care, and applying topical treatments.
- Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately for documentation and billing purposes.
- Assist with ICD coding, medical terminology clarification, and maintaining detailed patient records.
- Support the management of outpatient appointments and coordinate follow-up care.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of clinical equipment and exam rooms.
- Collaborate with hospital teams in inpatient or Level I / II trauma center settings when necessary.
- Support emergency medicine protocols including basic life support (BLS) procedures when required.
- Assist with imaging procedures such as X-ray or other diagnostic tests as needed within the clinic or hospital setting.
Qualifications
Prior experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred.Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, ICD coding, and patient care protocols.Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is essential.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.Strong patient service orientation with excellent communication skills.Background in medical-surgical units or inpatient settings such as Geriatrics, PICU, or OR experience is advantageous.Familiarity with X-ray procedures or emergency medicine protocols is a plus.Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments including Level I / II trauma centers or outpatient clinics.Must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially.
