Position summary :
The equipment operator safely operates plant mobile heavy equipment to include 100 ton haul truck and 992 loader to bring raw materials from pit to plant in a safe and efficient manner at maximum loading capacity. Other equipment such as motor grader, water truck, crane, etc. as needed.
Essential functions :
Must be able to or willing to learn to operate all other mobile equipment, including : haul truck, motor grader, water truck, loader and craneAssist in plant repairs and clean-upPerform pre-shift safety inspection on equipmentPerform preventative maintenance and service mobile equipment. Report needed repairs to shop personnelResponsible for good housekeeping of equipmentAdhere to MSHA and plant safety rules and regulationsPerform duties with minimum supervisionOther duties as assignedMinimum education and experience :
High school diploma or GED equivalent requiredPrefer 3-5 years experience operating heavy mobile equipmentKnowledge, skills and abilities :
Must be able to read equipment operating manualMust be able to complete pre-shift inspection reportMust be able to communicate in English on radio or CBPossess basic mathematical aptitude to complete daily reportsMust be able to wear all required safety equipmentMust be able to perform duties in a safe mannerMust be able to read and interpret gaugesProven ability to work in a team environmentPhysical requirements :
Must have good hand / eye coordination and be able to operate hand / foot controlsPossess good vision to perceive depth at close range and distances up to 150 feetMust be able to limb on and off equipment to operate and serviceMust be able to bend, stoop, climb and reach around mobile equipmentCapable of lifting up to 50 lbMust be able to sit and operate equipment for long periods up to 10+ hours per dayMust work outside in all weather conditions consistent with extreme ambient temperatures : heat, cold, wetness, dryness, dust, and noisy conditionsMust be able to work at various heightsWorking conditions :
Larger equipment is typically air conditioned. There will be times when outside assignments that may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry. May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
