Assistant Regional Lending Manager

HR Consulting Solutions, LLC is a national executive search firm that has been retained by Colonial Farm Credit to conduct a search for an Assistant Regional Lending Manager to work alongside their team in Windsor, Virginia.

Colonial Farm Credit is an agricultural credit cooperative dedicated to supporting farmers, rural homeowners, and agribusinesses. They provide loans for land purchases, home construction, equipment, livestock, farm operations, and more. With approximately 75 employees across multiple Virginia offices, Colonial Farm Credit is proud to deliver financial solutions that strengthen rural communities. We are currently seeking to hire an Assistant Regional Lending Manager to support the leadership and operations of their offices in Windsor, Courtland, Waverly, Chesapeake, and Dinwiddie, Virginia.

Position Summary

The Assistant Regional Lending Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting the Regional Lending Manager to guide operations, coach team members, and ensure alignment with Colonial Farm Credit's strategic goals. This position contributes to four critical areas of the business model :

  • Human Resources developing people and supporting team culture
  • Asset Growth driving new business and building customer relationships
  • Asset Quality ensuring strong credit standards and compliance
  • Earnings aligning office performance with financial goals

This role is ideal for a motivated professional with experience in lending, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for serving the agricultural community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Human Resources
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of lending staff
  • Assist in setting and monitoring office and individual goals
  • Provide coaching and feedback to enhance staff performance
  • Promote teamwork and a professional work environment
  • Asset Quality
  • Assist in evaluating loan applications and verifying applicant data
  • Ensure compliance with consumer protection regulations
  • Support credit analysis, collateral evaluation, and classification reviews
  • Maintain accurate credit documentation
  • Asset Growth
  • Identify and develop new customer relationships
  • Support Relationship Managers with sales planning and execution
  • Promote cross-selling of financial products and services
  • Contribute to market expansion strategies and outreach efforts

  • Assist with financial planning and goal setting
  • Support loan pricing and compliance with pricing policies
  • Manage office operations to align with financial objectives
  • Provide excellent customer service and promote Farm Credit services
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Agricultural Economics, or related agricultural field
  • 2+ years of credit / administrative or lending experience
  • Agricultural background and familiarity with Farm Credit loan processes preferred
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical, judgment, and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to travel regularly (>
  • 30% of time) to meet with customers and attend industry events

  • Must reside within the Windsor territory or a contiguous county
  • Current registration (or ability to register) with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)
  • Acceptable background checks (credit, criminal, driving, and drug screen)
