Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 13-week acute care assignment at a Level II trauma setting, requiring at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an acute care setting on the Occupational Therapy unit
  • Treat a diverse patient population with varying diagnoses and functional, cognitive, or behavioral impairments
  • Day shift, 8-hour shifts preferred (8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM), Monday through Friday
  • Weekend rotation every 4-6 weeks, no on-call required
  • Electronic charting using Epic EMR
  • Evaluate and design therapy treatment plans to help patients regain or maintain life skills and independence
  • Provide interventions and education for patients of all ages, addressing physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial needs
  • Document evaluations and modify therapeutic plans according to departmental guidelines and regulatory standards
  • May supervise assistants, aides, and students as needed
  • Work collaboratively with providers, case managers, family members, and others across the care continuum
  • Department provides orientation with PT and OT preceptors and manager-led training
  • Dress code is grey scrubs or business casual attire
  • All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
  • Candidates must not have a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility
  • Returning travelers must have ended prior employment at this health system at least 6 months before consideration

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice required if applicable
  • Certification from the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care occupational therapy experience
  • Education level as required for state licensure
