Build What Flies : Lead Precision Manufacturing Engineering

We’re looking for an engineering leader to elevate a tight-tolerance, AS9100-certified machining operation. You will own the end-to-end engineering strategy—from NPI through process validation—ensuring consistent quality and efficiency for complex, precision-machined aerospace components.

What You’ll Lead

  • People & Culture

Mentor and grow a team of Manufacturing Engineers specializing in CNC programming, tooling design, process improvement, and advanced manufacturing.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration
  • Act as the key liaison across engineering, operations, quality, and production to deliver on customer and internal commitments.

  • Process Optimization & Technical Strategy
  • Standardize and optimize machining processes to reduce cycle times and boost yields while improving manufacturability.

  • Own CAD / CAM programming methodologies to ensure precision, efficiency, and repeatability.
  • Lead DFM in partnership with customers and internal design teams.
  • Apply root cause analysis and statistical methods to solve problems with data.
  • Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all engineering activities align with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.

  • Support audits, corrective actions, and documentation to maintain certification and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner closely with Quality to consistently meet or surpass customer expectations.
  • Technology & CapEx
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and advanced machining strategies.

  • Lead capital equipment justification and implementation to drive measurable engineering and production improvements.
  • Stay current on CAD / CAM, tooling, and machining best practices to keep the shop on the leading edge.
  • What Success Looks Like

  • Robust processes from NPI through validation that scale reliably.
  • Shorter cycle times, higher yields, and improved manufacturability.
  • Repeatable, high-precision CAD / CAM programs across operations.
  • Audit readiness and strong documentation in an AS9100-certified environment.
  • Smart automation and capital investments that pay back in performance.
  • If you thrive on turning advanced machining capability into repeatable excellence, you’ll feel right at home here.
