Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, L.P., is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Logistics Engineer position within our Logistics organization located at our DTTP - in Waller, Texas. The Logistics Solutions Engineer analyzes the supply chain, transportation, and distribution network and develops recommendations for reducing freight costs, creating material efficiencies, and improving on-time delivery. Establishes, maintains, and communicates statistical data on the tracking of product shipments, returns, and inventory. Applies knowledge of industry best practices and business analysis skills to help plan, analyze and define leading solutions to our rapidly growing Company.
May include in addition to :
- Extract data and generate reports that assist in performance tracking and decision-making
- Data validation, cleansing, profiling, baseline development & defining scenarios to model
- Calculate labor, equipment, facility and expense requirements based on transportation and warehousing design assumptions. Develop process flows, concept of operations and value propositions consistent with the win strategy and work with IT to develop concept of systems.
- Coordinate with Pricing and other functions to develop cost and pricing models as well as relevant assumptions
- Develop optimizations scenarios and strategies that are aligned with objectives
- Analyze logistics operations and build decision support systems
- Conduct research as needed to respond to customer requests
- Provide suggestions and implement plans to improve business processes
- Identify value-creation opportunities for the company
- Develop and implement solutions (both simple solutions using existing technology and infrastructure as well as complex solutions using the latest technologies such as RFID, self-configuring wireless meshes, sophisticated optimization algorithms, etc.
- Participate in additional projects / activities to support ongoing business needs

Experience or specialization within supply chain / operations researchAbility to use design applications, tools, techniques, and methodologies to analyze and design complex transportation and warehousing networksFamiliarity in simulation tools, transportation & warehouse management systems, ERPs, Automation, MHE, Visibility Tools, and industry leading technologies(preferred)Strong working knowledge of MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint – Access a plus and various database applicationsData organization and purification skillsHigh level of attention to detail, accuracy and compliance orientedStrong analytical, quantitative and creative problem solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex designs, concepts, and regulations into terms readily understoodEffective organizational and time management skillsPriority setting – capable of managing multiple inputs and directions to deliver the desired resultsSolid collaboration abilities; professional and diplomatic team builderResults orientated, dedication to excellence and sense of urgency to achieve business objectivesAbility to apply good judgement and decision making skills and strong work ethics and integrity on the jobAbility to work independently on multiple tasks and projects, with various teams including engineers and supply chain personnelExperience :
0 – 2 years preferably within a large volume durable consumer goods industryEducation :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or Industrial EngineeringPhysical Requirements / Work Environment :
