POSITION TITLE : Psychiatrist

DEPARTMENT : Medical Staff

SUPERVISOR'S TITLE : Director, Medical Staff

POSITION PURPOSE :

Provides psychiatric diagnosis, treatment and consultation to the clients, families and staff. Provides medical psychiatric consultation to community physicians and provides clinical oversight and supervision to multidisciplinary teams in the organization.

POSITION COMPETENCIES, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Demonstrate knowledge of theories and principles of human behavior, psychopathology, diagnostics categories, family systems theory, and mental illness.

Skills in listening, interpreting, and implementing clinical interventions.

Essential Functions :

Provide initial psychiatric diagnoses and assessments in emergency and non-emergency situations.

Provide medication management and other treatment interventions to clients and patients.

Consult with general medical professionals regarding the psychiatric condition of their patients

QUALIFICATIONS :

Current license to practice medicine in the State of Indiana or eligibility to get board certified in Indiana.

Completed accredited Training Residency in Psychiatry.

Positive references from past professors / supervisors.

Support staff and on-call responsibilities shared; every 6 weeks, 6-9 days out of the month, at the most 3 days in a row.

Full time position, 8 hour days, flexible 9-5 8-4, etc.
